Lake Pointe Community Church: Erie, PA
Our History
Lake Pointe Community Church originated in 1998 with a vision to have a Bible-teaching church in east Erie County.
With the help of the NWPA Baptist Association, the Southern Baptist Convention, and Millcreek Community Church, a Bible study began meeting in the Harborcreek area. A pastor was recruited and services began on a regular schedule.
The church began holding worship services at Skateway Roller Rink in Harborcreek. What started as a small church has grown to over 100 people worshipping the Lord every Sunday.
In December 2000, Lake Pointe completed construction on a 17 acre plot of land along Iroquois Avenue in Harborcreek Township.
In December 2003, the Shook family moved to Erie, and our current pastor began.
The Iroquois Avenue campus is now the home of Lake Pointe Community Church – including worship services, classes, offices, and ministries.
A new church plant, New Life Church, was completed in Wattsburg, PA, spring 2007.
The vision continues.
